Fun Stuff
Scavenger setting Tim Chase
For more challange against the computer play with 5-7 lives on an empty board. Give
yourself all fans, but let the computer pick randomly. Adjust your health for a more or
less challanging game. For less challange, add one dart to your inventory. For a
different twist, mix and match with dirtballs/greenballs in your inventory, or comprise
your inventory totally of them. It's nice to raise the number of bonuses so you have a
chance.
You can also use the other technique listed here to stock the computer's inventory
[to the left]. Particularly difficult settings
include giving the computer weapons--such as larpa/nuke/crackler which threaten your
possibility of getting dropped packages.
Sniper Setting Tim Chase
For a greater challange against a human, try the Sniper setting: outlaw everything but
fans, dirt/greenball, and darts. Each player gets 5% health (or less). Adjust load times
to taste. Good boards on which to play include "Empty" and a board created with a variety
of vertical one-pixel wide barriers through which you can shoot, but which keep you on
opposite sides of the screen.
Another cool challenge Tim Chase
You want a real liero challange? Set yourself to an empty board, 5% health, one dart, and
the rest fans, 100% load time...lots of packages (I have it set to 50...you need it) with
names on the packages. Let the computer take whatever weapons it gets randomly, and give
it 100% (or more) health. Tips include:
Using the fan to blow away his weapons
Using the dart (okay, it's not that great, but it's what you have :)
Knocking him into innocuous weapons like greenball and dirtball, especially to rid
him of larpa, crackler, or nuke (things that diminish your chances of picking up weapons)
Keep to the upper corners, touching the ground only to pick up weapons and to attack.
You can often use his side of the screen to see if there are any weapons as he approaches...
then swing to the other side of the screen to keep him from getting it (or, if it's greenball
or dirtball, lure him into it by staying put). then swoop down, grab the weapon, and
retreat to the corner (emptying it into him if you have the chance)
Weapons like larpa, bouncy larpa, nuke and crackler can work against you, as they take
out good weapons that drop on the board
Hellraider--don't fire it from a rope...your chances of escape are slim
Avoid the crackler. period.
At 5% health, not much can hit you and leave you standing. A single shotgun pellet or
grenade fragment and you might live. a dart? you're dead :)
